Shades of a Warrior
Return of the ManitousPrivacy policy
This website belongs to Robert Saxton, author of the Tales from Gichi Gami trilogy, in Bemidji, Minnesota (USA). This page explains, in plain words, what information the site collects and what happens to it.
When you write to Robert
The contact form asks for your name, your email, who you are writing for, the name of your school, library or club (optional) and your message. All of this is sent by email to Robert so he can answer you. The website does not keep a copy after sending it. Robert keeps your email in his mailbox for as long as he needs it to answer you.
When you sign up for the Book 3 announcement
The site keeps your email address, the language of the page you used and the date. They are stored in a database in Robert's own Cloudflare account, and used for one thing only: to tell you when Book 3 comes out. Your address is never sold, rented or shared. To be removed from the list, write to Robert.
Protection against spam
The forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that they are sent by a person and not by a robot. To do this, Turnstile looks at technical information from your browser. It does not use it for advertising.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any website, it receives technical information when you visit (such as your IP address and the type of browser) to send you the pages and protect the site against attacks.
Counting visits (only if you accept)
If you click "Accept" in the banner, the site counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics: pages viewed, country, type of device and browser. It uses no cookies and does not build a profile of you; Robert only sees totals. If you click "Decline", nothing is counted. Your choice is saved in your browser, and you can change it at any time with the "Privacy choices" link at the bottom of every page.
Young readers
The books are read by young readers and adults alike. The site does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please ask a parent before writing to Robert or signing up.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information about you at any time. Write to Robert at [email protected].
